The Galaxy Z TriFold finally has a US price and launch date — and it's Samsung's priciest foldable yet
  • Samsung's Galaxy Z TriFold will cost $2,899 in the US
  • It goes up for order on January 30, 2026
  • The Z TriFold comes in one SKU: 512GB of storage and in Crafted Black

We knew Samsung’s tri-fold wouldn’t be cheap, and the technology giant has finally shared the all-important pairing: the price and a US launch date. Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold is officially launching later this week, on January 30, 2026, for $2,899.

That’s not a small sum of cash by any measure, but it is less than $3,000, which is good news if you’ve been eyeing this impressive foldable that opens not once but twice to reveal a 10-inch screen. Samsung will only offer the TriFold – for now – in Crafted Black, the same shade TechRadar went hands-on with, and it costs $2,899. It comes with 512GB of internal storage as well.

You’ll need to head to a Samsung Experience Store to pick one up in person, but considering the freezing temperatures across much of the country – including New York City – you’ll likely be better off ordering from Samsung’s online store. No waiting in line, and quite possibly a better route for quick delivery. The latter all depends on demand, though.

If you’re hoping to try just one, Samsung’s Experience Store is the place to do so. As of yet, Samsung hasn’t said which, if any, carriers – i.e., Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile – will offer the Galaxy Z TriFold, though if that does happen, a monthly payment plan might make the triple-folding phone a bit more pocketable.

At $2,899, the Galaxy Z TriFold is $900 more than the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which has a $1,999.99 MSRP, though you can easily shave a few hundred dollars off by trading in a device or purchasing it during a sale. That puts the Galaxy Z TriFold in an even higher tier of premium flagship smartphones.

It did really wow us, though, in our hands-on, with TechRadar’s Editor-at-Large Lance Ulanoff writing that the Z TriFold is “an uncompromising and remarkable feat of engineering that offers the potential of truly pocketable big-screen tablet productivity.” It really addresses the question, at least on paper and in its premise, of whether you need to bring both a phone and a tablet with you, as it combines the appeal of both into one device.

The Z TriFold opens up to a 10-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, which really impressed us, and, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, the front cover display is a 6.5-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X. It also doesn’t skimp on performance, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy under the hood and 12GB of RAM.

We’ll, of course, need to spend more time with it and put it through its paces outside of Samsung’s hands-on space to deliver our full review of the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold. Even so, if the $2,899 price seems worth it to you, the Galaxy Z TriFold will go up for order directly from Samsung on January 30, 2026.
